kanervosirkku(at)gmail.com +358505441307 BIO Sirkku Rosi creates watercolours from bodily experiences, sculptural elements expanding from paintings and works also in the field of performance art. She is intrigued by the research of flesh, the shared nature of cellular existence, the fragility of paper and our porous skin as a leaky boundary between humans and our environment. In Rosi’s work, sensual bodies lurk, birth, digest and decompose. The twisting curves of intestines are a map to the garden, and organs penetrate through the skin like stones polished through time. Her work has diminutive carnival of flesh. A graduate from the University of Arts Helsinki and the Aalto University, Rosi’s works can be found in collections such as the Nordiska Akvarell Museet, the Finnish State Art Deposit Collection and the Tampere Art Museum Collection. Rosi has held numerous exhibitions in both Finland and abroad. |
